with so much happening with Allan recording his latest cds and trying to get everything organised to send it over to Victoria to be put on to cds It is all very exciting. He is back teaching at the school again as well, he gets so bogged down with class prep stuff he gets very tired and the count down to the next lot of holidays has started again.
Buying the platen and trying to find somewhere to put it so I can work on it and just trying to find time to print on the Adana, cut new lino prints to use as decorative blocks and look after miss ruby and do just general house wifie stuff I haven't had much chance to relax. It has been good for us though, I think we have both found the person to get us moving creatively and that gives us the support and encouragement we both needed to keep us going and stop us from feeling down sometimes about how life can be. We found each other and although I can't speak for Allan, I know I have found someone so very special and I have never been happy in my life!
MY NEW / OLD HEILDELBERG PLATEN LETTERPRESS . I AM NOT SURE WHERE WE ARE GOING TO PUT IT YET BUT WE HAVE A LITTLE TIME UP OUR SLEEVES SO I AM NOT TOO STRESSED. IT NEEDS A REALLY GOOD CLEAN UP AND I WILL REPLACE A COUPLE OF THINGS BUT IT IS IN PERFECT WORKING ORDER AND I CANT SEE ANY PHYSICAL REASONS WHY I SHOULD THINK OTHER WISE. SO HERE STARTS ANOTHER CHAPTER IN MY LIFE AND FINALLY IT IS GOING TO BE AN EXCITING ONE!
I am thinking about holding some relief printing workshops for the interested locals
The idea is to have small groups of people come to our home learn about printing cut and print a block of their own, We will provide a lunch, Allan the family chef will cook a beautiful gourmet meal to keep everyone going then back to printing your cards or what every you want to print ........I need a show of hands who might be interested in taking part to give me some idea of numbers.
I have posted this on my face book page as well. http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=840854833&ref=name#/profile.php?id=840854833&ref=profile
so hopefully people will see this and be interested .
Just a bit of fun meeting like minded people in the community and maybe drum up some interest in printmaking and Ruby Victoria letterpress and Badalassi cucina.
We had Allan's Brother Jerry and his Partner carol here from Sydney over the weekend ,the weather wasn't much chop for them but they6 still got to have a look around Hobart and the surrounds. Ruby loved having people other than Allan and I to play with, she finally got to show Uncle Jerry her piano playing in person
Here is my new lino print block I decided a little while back to do a series of teapot and teacups so here is the first of them. I will print these shortly and I will post them on my etsy for sale! if anyone is interested in buying one
