Niche market Launceston

Another wonderful weekend spent taking part in our second Niche market this year.
This time around we were set up at the very well equipped University Art school and gallery it actually make me want to move north just to have access to this fantastic facility.
Loads of lovely stall holders and customers making the two days very enjoyable and well worth the trip up from Hobart.

Niche Market is on again in Launceston this weekend and Ruby Victoria letterpress & printmaking will be in attendance again.
This time we will be at the Inveresk site at the University art gallery site from 10am to 4pm both Friday and Saturday .
We are hoping to meet many new customer as the Market is running as part Junction 2010 and arts conferences and weekend of arts demos and displays through out Launceston

Wooden type, Moleskines and new Christmas stationery

Love getting stuff like this in the mail and today was like Christmas I have been eagerly waiting for my Moleskine notebooks to arrive so that I can get printing on them.
I am thinking with all my new wooden type arriving at the same time I might get busy on Sunday and print them up for Niche Market next weekend in Launceston at the Inversesk university art school 27th and 28th of August from 10 am on both days

These next photos are of 2 of my new Christmas range for this year and will be for sale at next weeks Niche market as well as in my online stores , these note cards pack make and elegant not fussing alternative to conventional Christmas cards and they are beautiful to write on as they are printed on soft 100% cotton rag paper

74 limelane feature

A couple of days ago I was contacted by Kellie of 74 lime lane saying that she had been browsing around the internet looking for Australian Designers and came across me on etsy or it might have been madeit handmade and wanted to do a feature on her blogs about my work in her Lime Light Tuesday section

Wooden type

After watching the fantastic doco called typeface and thought it was about time i got out the very little wooden type i own out and finally print it .
Just a couple of little groupings of letters printed on some nice antique white cotton rag paper then if these work out ok I think I might print them on the Moleskine jounal/sketchbooks I have just bought, iIam not sure what colours to use just yet
If you have any suggestions I am all ears

Spoonful of Galleons

A little while back I wrote to the lovely Anthea of Spoonful magaZINE expressing my interest in contributing something to her little zine and to my joy she contacted me a couple of weeks back asking if I would like to be a feature artist in Spoonfuls Objects of Affection spread, of course I said yes.The task for all artists involved was to create a piece of work being painting, drawing, sewing anything really depicting the chosen object, this time around was a Galleon or tall ship to my complete horror but I am happy to say I think I have pulled it off ok
