PAINTING CLASS

Started a painting class yesterday with Elizabeth barshim(will check the spelling ) I will post a link to her site here when I find it !
All the usual types of people there I am not going to comment let just say I was the youngest there lol .
Elizabeth is a lovely lady she reminds me alot of my grandmother that passed away wow over 20 years ago, she looks very similar and has the same manner as my nan.
We didn't do any painting this week just some simple exercises with colour and we will get into it a bit next week I left there wanting to go home and get stuck into painting but I am going to resist the urge.
I went around this morning delivering cards that people had ordered they all paid cash which was good and a florist in town took the ones she ordered and the sample ones i just took in to see if she would be interested in . this paid for my supplies for next weeks painting class so i am pretty happy about that, i will have to see if i can keep this up.

rubycino

Here is ruby chucking a few rubycino's back with daddy this morning while waiting for me to drop Christopher off at the bus stop, she looks like a real old pro at it now. I guess she has a good teacher.
oh and for the people with no sense of humour it is hot chocolate not real coffee

Hobart waterfront

Yup the Steve Irwin was in port today with all its battle scars, they were having tours of the ship all weekend if I had of known I would have taken Christopher on for a look around but we didn't get the chance.
Allan, roo and I went down to the docks just on a whim so I could get some pics to draw from I especially like the little birds on the cray pots they look terribly sweet all sitting there together ,I really like cray pots in not sure why I think it might be the weaving pattern or something I just think they are so beautiful to look at .

busy busy busy

spent thursday while ruby was at daycare going around to all the businesses in hobart with my cards, had a bit of interest from children clothing shops and florists and got some orders for more cards but in different colors more earth tones, I will use some of my old blocks of more floral designs to cater for the florists, I will post some photos of the new colors when i am back on my computer Im on Allan's mac at the moment will go back to slumming it on the p.c. when ruby is sleeping. I went to a toy shop in salamanca and the lady suggested i have a stall there at the market she was saying that the council would be the place to call about a temporary site and that they are always looking for people that made handmade stuff i guess they get alot of stalls with second hand stuff for sale, so it's something worth considering and the printing really doesn't take that long to do cos i find it fun

has some blue ink left and thought I'd proof the pussy cat, looks good in blue, will edition it on rice paper one day, I am having too much fun making cards right now !

Just took some photos of the little gift cards I am in the middle of reprinting only done the pink so far but will print in blue and violet this afternoon once i have had yum yums !

intuitive painting

I have been reading a blog from a lady in south Africa, her name is Dianne and she is an intuitive painter, I really like the sound of this and it has been playing on my mind since I saw her blog, I really seems to hit a chord with me, I have actually been thinking about this way of painting for may years but I just haven't picked up the brushes and paint and done anything about it, there is nothing like getting a little bit of affirmation off blogspot to get you going hey !! Oh yeah and thanks Dianne for the much needed inspiration !

brilliant news

Well I was going to post some photos of the little cards, I was going to but I finished and took them to the shop and they wanted to buy them all off me, so I didn't get the chance to photograph any of them. Pretty exciting stuff for me really I was saying to Allan last night when I was finishing them that I was expecting to be stuck with all these baby card and no one to sell or even give them to, boy was I wrong! I really am a completely negative twit sometimes.
Allan got some great news too when we got home he checked his emails and he got mail from Morilla Estate vineyard saying they liked his music and are looking at when they can have him play there yippee this is great for Allans confidence, both Allan and I have really started to get our creative acts together and are finally getting somewhere, It feels really good!!

more new blocks for printing

here are some more little block I have been working on I was asked to print up some gift tags to go with baby gifts and these are what I came up with, what do you all think?
Actually that's not entirely true the one with the heart, I did for Allan because he had gotten some wonderful news about his composing and was asked to play at a local festival and I was very proud of him and wanted him to know how much I love him, so I printed this and put it around the house with messages written on them hehe but all the rest are gift tags!!

Easters coming !

Here are some print I have been working on for Easter printed them tonight to see what they would look like, I am pretty happy with them ,I have never worried about printing festive stuff before now let alone in pink or blue !! heaven forbid I use any other colour than black while printing lol
Got my prints back from the framers today and they look amazing, I think the people at the Ecohaven will be happy with them and i really hope someone likes them enough to buy them, now that would be fantastic !

salamanca market

Went to the market today with Allan and ruby to get some fresh produce so Allan could make his soups and sauces yummy the veggies all looked so fresh and bright you cant help but buy them.
The veggies are grown and sold by a community of Mongolians that live on the outskirts of Hobart.
Ruby enjoyed the atmosphere and the street performer, she joined with the crowd clapping and shouting the count down till he did his big finale and to top it all off the weather was beautiful, I got lots of new photo for new prints Allan got is super fresh ingredients and Ruby didnt have a tired tantrum!
