The Hand Made Market is almost upon us again and It is going tobe yet another fantastic event. This new market has created quite alot of positive vibe around the artists and crafters that I know for its easy going , friendly atmosphere , open spaced out stalls and beautiful warm natural light that stream into this lovely Hall.
This coming market another great line up of local artisans all hand picked especially for their beautiful work and dedication to their chosen craft.

As the market is looming thick an fast I thought it was about time I got out of the Christmas holiday rut and finally do some carving there in the photo is a poppy bookplate/labels havent decided yet, these will be printing on the Adana letterpress then I will add some type to them.
The other is a little idea I have been tossing around for a while now, these will be seed packets first I will print the lino the add some letterpress type to them , SEEDS into the little plaque and then things like name, date, spacing and planting instructions to finished them off, well something like that I will work it out as I go I guess like I tend to do with most of my work .
I also have some new greeting card and gift tags in the pipeline as well but there aren't any photos of these just yet I am hoping to print them today and with any luck these will also be for sale at the next couple of market.
I would love to see as many people come to the Handmade Market It truly is a wonderful market and all the stall fees are donated to the Mutaho Children's Foundation - the brainchild of a young, local Hobart woman who seeks to teach sustainability skills to AIDs orphans in Kenya.
So please if you are in Hobart on the 23rd -24th please drop in and say hi
Loving the carvings! Looking forward to seeing these guys in print! Hope the market goes really well for you.
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous. I love the woodcut kind of style. I bought myself some lino to have a go at print making, but that's as far as it's got... you've given me some inspiration to get it out and have a go.. but I don't think mine will be as delicately done as yours.... love them!
ReplyDeletethank you Emma, carving is great, very therapeutic
ReplyDeletecraving just takes a little practice then your off.
I would love to see what you come up with
