Welcome to Ruby Victoria Letterpress & printmaking
Here you will find photos of all my original hand carved linocut prints and letterpress printing. A commercial printer by trade a printmaker by choice. I specialize in original handcarved lino block prints with a bit of letterpress thrown in for good measure. All printed on antique printing machines with that unmistakable bite into the paper that you can only get with letterpress printing
The work that I do is not created on a computer everything is hand drawn then hand carved out of lino then printed one impression at a time on my tabletop letterpress machine
I do not use polymer which limits me somewhat in regards to type but I love to use traditional methods in my printing that involve handset type and hand carved designs and I think this is what make my work totally Original and Unique to what other people are doing right now and it also meaning everything I make is an original work of art I love what I do and love to share it with others that are interested Narelle

New prints as promised
All brand new prints, hot off the press and hand coloured today !
I am not sure about the orange on the middle one I might leave this one without any hand colouring yet. what do you think ?
Found your lovely site through the flickr Printmaking group--you do beautiful work. I'm a novice printmaker itching to get my hands on a 1903 letterpress that belonged to my late father. Until I can figure out how to transport it 900 miles to my home and figure out (yipes!) a place to put it, I'll take inspiration from work like yours.
These are beautiful. I agree about the orange, I don't think the print really needs any colour.
ReplyDeletethese are gorgeous narelle. i also agree the middle print doesn't need any colour.
ReplyDeletewill they be available in your etsy shop?
ReplyDeletehi Erin Yes these will be in my etsy store after the exhibition opening on the 12th of November

ReplyDeleteThey are lovely Narelle. I prefer them without colour too - they are perfect as black and white prints.
