Welcome to Ruby Victoria Letterpress & printmaking

Here you will find photos of all my original hand carved linocut prints and letterpress printing.
A commercial printer by trade a printmaker by choice.
I specialize in original handcarved lino block prints with a bit of letterpress thrown in for good measure.
All printed on antique printing machines with that unmistakable bite into the paper that you can only get with letterpress printing

The work that I do is not created on a computer everything is hand drawn then hand carved out of lino then printed one impression at a time on my tabletop letterpress machine

I do not use polymer which limits me somewhat in regards to type but I love to use traditional methods in my printing that involve handset type and hand carved designs and I think this is what make my work totally Original and Unique to what other people are doing right now and it also meaning everything I make is an original work of art
I love what I do and love to share it with others that are interested

Collaboration for a cause on Facebook

In an Australian first the handmade community has come together to Collaborate for a Cause with 220 Facebook Businesses creating nearly 100 one of a kind handmade items to be auction  this  coming weekend  (29th - 31 July) to raise fund for more than 40 Charities
“The aim of 'Collaborate for a Cause' is to promote friendship, understanding and fun throughout the Facebook handmade community, while raising important funds for charities.
“What sets it apart from other charity auctions is that it lets donors select their own charity recipient and that each donated item is a collaborative effort between two or more handmade businesses, meaning that every piece is truly exclusive.

Anna of King Billy contacted me to see if I would be interested in doing a collaborative project with her as part of the Facebook Collaborate for a cause project of course I said yes not only to help another person but to also see what Anna would make with the fabric I sent to her to work her magic with and boy she did just that, I sent up a pack of some of my newly printed red snowflake design printed calico and waited to see what she came up with.
Hasn't she done a superb job

“We chose to support Cure our Kids because of the fantastic support they give to families with kids  that have Cancer, in the Oncology ward at Westmead Children’s Hospital in NSW.

If you would like to also like to support this Charity please follow the link to the Collaborate for a cause Facebook page to bid on these very lovely item as well as items from many other collaborating artist on Facebook.

Grab a printed Ruby Victoria Bargain at the Barn this Saturday

It has been a while since I have had a stall at The barn Market so it will be nice to be there again this Saturday in that lovely warm old barn with lots of other clever makers and artists.
I have decided that it is time to clean out a bit of excess stock a little so I will be having a big bowl of heavily reduced items to make way for some new things I have been working on so please come along and grab a bargain.
See you there maybe ?

Images from the Christmas in July, Apron market

We had a lovely time at the Apron Market even though it was chilly people still came out to see what was on offer , great to see some familiar faces and to meet new people that like my work.

The wonderful Caravan Photo prop
that looks alot like my little caravan :) very sweet!

Even Ruby survived the Market by making friends with Harriet of Dick and Dora's little boy Rupert, they had a wonderful time playing hide and seek making Christmas decorations together and sharing a lolly pop erk!
