Well we have set the date, Allan and I will be getting married on the 3rd of may this year.

an old lino

AN oldie but a goodie! This a very personal print it obviously depicts 2 dogs, one with a halo the other with little horns and a spikes tale, at the time I did this print I was married and my outlaws had a very strange and strained relationship with my then husband, they seemed to compete with each other endlessly and were not very nice to me hense the angel and devil dogs, yes you guessed it they were apparent christians and we were the heathens no matter what we did, i could have been the mother mary and it wouldnt have been good enough, it got so rediculious that when we got our dog Endo they adopted max off a friend of ours and the "my dog is better, smarter" ect began,YAWN!!
I am so glad i dont have to put up with their shit anymore !! but i still love this print!

I am finally an Aunty.... YIPEEEE

yippee finally my brother had hid first child today, Louise his wife gave Birth to Isabella Louise this afternoon via c-section, she weighed just over 8 pound and is 52cm in length.
Is funny Isabella looks just like Ruby when she was born but I guess people say all babies look the same when they are first born.
Anyway I am so excited about being an Aunty relle for the first time I never thought it would happen, good on ya Louise and Ashley,Congratulations !
I find it very sweet seeing my brother holding his little girl i never thought i would see the day that he would have a baby and remembering how nervous he was when he held my first child at the hospital , he was terrified hehe he looks alot more comfortable with Isabella , he isn't holding her out at arms length like he did Christopher !!

Life is getting busier

wow life is just getting so busy, just don't seem to have time to do anything much for too long , between ruby and house work and other stuff I have been going to painting class and trying to get homework done not as easy as I had first imagined but I am getting there and loving it.
got a really cool retro lamp today from the op shop had never seen anything like it before and I just fell in love with it, I am going to start giving stuff away out of the house so i can fit all my opshop finds lol then I wont feel so guilty about bringing stuff home !

tip shopping again !!

waaahoo I have been tip shopping again !
Scored a couple of large card display rack that I have been looking for, these ones actually turned out better than I had hoped they fold down flat but they are still quite large and they display my prints and cards really well. Oh and here is a little wire mug tree think I got from Vinnies the other day to display my little card and I posted the last photo just cos I think the cards look good laid out like this the colours look really pretty! But yeah i am sooooo proud of my new display racks !

I just killed my disc drive, damn it I'm a flippin moron some times !

A drawing of Buddha I did for Allan last night, I might turn it into a lino cut at some point, have done a few floral drawings too happy enough with them will be turned into lino cuts when i get some time . painting class again today gee this week has gone quick only feels like yesterday I was at the class. I hope we start getting into it today!

op shopping

went looking for bits and pieces for my painting class next week at all the tips shops and vinnies yesterday ,nearly have everything was just looking for a big pallet to mix paint on found a nice big glass cabinet door for a buck and I found ruby a cute little bag for 20 cents and a couple of mug trees to hang my little cards on if I ever get my act together and organise a market stall anywhere.
Went to fig today to give them their receipt for the cards they bought and the owner offered their walls to me to display my prints for sale any time, this is great i have work all over Hobart now.today Hobart, tomorrow the WORLD !!!!! I am just kidding, anyone that knows me with know I am to skittish to attempt world domination !
anyway here are some photos of my Ruby with her new bag doesn't she look cute in her new wammies I got at Coles for 7 bucks !!

PAINTING CLASS

Started a painting class yesterday with Elizabeth barshim(will check the spelling ) I will post a link to her site here when I find it !
All the usual types of people there I am not going to comment let just say I was the youngest there lol .
Elizabeth is a lovely lady she reminds me alot of my grandmother that passed away wow over 20 years ago, she looks very similar and has the same manner as my nan.
We didn't do any painting this week just some simple exercises with colour and we will get into it a bit next week I left there wanting to go home and get stuck into painting but I am going to resist the urge.
I went around this morning delivering cards that people had ordered they all paid cash which was good and a florist in town took the ones she ordered and the sample ones i just took in to see if she would be interested in . this paid for my supplies for next weeks painting class so i am pretty happy about that, i will have to see if i can keep this up.

Here is ruby chucking a few rubycino's back with daddy this morning while waiting for me to drop Christopher off at the bus stop, she looks like a real old pro at it now. I guess she has a good teacher.
oh and for the people with no sense of humour it is hot chocolate not real coffee

Hobart waterfront

Yup the Steve Irwin was in port today with all its battle scars, they were having tours of the ship all weekend if I had of known I would have taken Christopher on for a look around but we didn't get the chance.
Allan, roo and I went down to the docks just on a whim so I could get some pics to draw from I especially like the little birds on the cray pots they look terribly sweet all sitting there together ,I really like cray pots in not sure why I think it might be the weaving pattern or something I just think they are so beautiful to look at .

busy busy busy

spent thursday while ruby was at daycare going around to all the businesses in hobart with my cards, had a bit of interest from children clothing shops and florists and got some orders for more cards but in different colors more earth tones, I will use some of my old blocks of more floral designs to cater for the florists, I will post some photos of the new colors when i am back on my computer Im on Allan's mac at the moment will go back to slumming it on the p.c. when ruby is sleeping. I went to a toy shop in salamanca and the lady suggested i have a stall there at the market she was saying that the council would be the place to call about a temporary site and that they are always looking for people that made handmade stuff i guess they get alot of stalls with second hand stuff for sale, so it's something worth considering and the printing really doesn't take that long to do cos i find it fun

has some blue ink left and thought I'd proof the pussy cat, looks good in blue, will edition it on rice paper one day, I am having too much fun making cards right now !

Just took some photos of the little gift cards I am in the middle of reprinting only done the pink so far but will print in blue and violet this afternoon once i have had yum yums !

intuitive painting

I have been reading a blog from a lady in south Africa, her name is Dianne and she is an intuitive painter, I really like the sound of this and it has been playing on my mind since I saw her blog, I really seems to hit a chord with me, I have actually been thinking about this way of painting for may years but I just haven't picked up the brushes and paint and done anything about it, there is nothing like getting a little bit of affirmation off blogspot to get you going hey !! Oh yeah and thanks Dianne for the much needed inspiration !

brilliant news

Well I was going to post some photos of the little cards, I was going to but I finished and took them to the shop and they wanted to buy them all off me, so I didn't get the chance to photograph any of them. Pretty exciting stuff for me really I was saying to Allan last night when I was finishing them that I was expecting to be stuck with all these baby card and no one to sell or even give them to, boy was I wrong! I really am a completely negative twit sometimes.
Allan got some great news too when we got home he checked his emails and he got mail from Morilla Estate vineyard saying they liked his music and are looking at when they can have him play there yippee this is great for Allans confidence, both Allan and I have really started to get our creative acts together and are finally getting somewhere, It feels really good!!
