Welcome to Ruby Victoria Letterpress & printmaking

Here you will find photos of all my original hand carved linocut prints and letterpress printing.
A commercial printer by trade a printmaker by choice.
I specialize in original handcarved lino block prints with a bit of letterpress thrown in for good measure.
All printed on antique printing machines with that unmistakable bite into the paper that you can only get with letterpress printing

The work that I do is not created on a computer everything is hand drawn then hand carved out of lino then printed one impression at a time on my tabletop letterpress machine

I do not use polymer which limits me somewhat in regards to type but I love to use traditional methods in my printing that involve handset type and hand carved designs and I think this is what make my work totally Original and Unique to what other people are doing right now and it also meaning everything I make is an original work of art
I love what I do and love to share it with others that are interested

new stuff and a wedding

This week is was very lucky to become the owner of this possibly very old screenprinting unit it was given to me by and old friend and printing colleague its pretty neat and I have been wanting one of these for ages but I hadn't been able to find one, it was in pretty messy condition ink caked all over it but after a bit of TLC it has come up really nice I just need to replace the actual silk screen this week as the original mess was totally knackered, the really cool think about this unit is that it comes with it very own carry case with compartments for ink , a squeegee and anything else you might need for a print run :)

I also received along with the printing unit some never used letterpress type and some unopened foil for my foiling unit so I cant wait to start playing with that soon.

This past week has also seen me printing wedding stationery and a lovely big order of gift tags destined for
Campbell& Bradley Florists in Greenslopes Queensland so I have been kept pretty busy :)

ready to be posted off to Campbell & Bradley Florists QLD

Off to Qld this week :)

Lastly here is the wedding stationery that I have just finished for the lovely Whitney and her fiance Stephen.

wedding stationery with custom linocut stamp

I have decided to include the custom linocut in the package as a special memento of their special day.
The linocut is backed up onto a Tasmanian black wood  block great for display purposes :)
