Welcome to Ruby Victoria Letterpress & printmaking

Here you will find photos of all my original hand carved linocut prints and letterpress printing.
A commercial printer by trade a printmaker by choice.
I specialize in original handcarved lino block prints with a bit of letterpress thrown in for good measure.
All printed on antique printing machines with that unmistakable bite into the paper that you can only get with letterpress printing

The work that I do is not created on a computer everything is hand drawn then hand carved out of lino then printed one impression at a time on my tabletop letterpress machine

I do not use polymer which limits me somewhat in regards to type but I love to use traditional methods in my printing that involve handset type and hand carved designs and I think this is what make my work totally Original and Unique to what other people are doing right now and it also meaning everything I make is an original work of art
I love what I do and love to share it with others that are interested

Salamanca markets Hobart Tasmania

Well we had Salamanca market again this weekend and it was cold again but no where near as cold as last time which was a pleasant surprise althought I did have 5 layers of clothes on a pair of tights undermy jeans thick socks under my ugg boots and my new scarf that was knitted for me by one of Allans fellow teachers, oh and dont forget the the deep heat patch on my back aaaaah ! and I cant forget to mention the thick rubber matting I bought to keep myself off the concrete, I seriously recommend getting some of this if you are going to be doing outdoor markets in the cold I think this saved me this time.

Sales were much better this time and we were situated right opposite the coffee lady so hot coffee and hot chocolate all day and it was bringing the customers in for me.
I had some visits from other local crafters during the day that is always nice to see familiar faces as well as a few blasts from the past, last time it was a past ceramics teacher and this time a fellow student from when I was doing my Arts Diploma many years ago.
I had a lovely day at the market this time and I am happy to say I can still walk so the layers of clothes and the heatpack must have worked.
