Welcome to Ruby Victoria Letterpress & printmaking

Here you will find photos of all my original hand carved linocut prints and letterpress printing.
A commercial printer by trade a printmaker by choice.
I specialize in original handcarved lino block prints with a bit of letterpress thrown in for good measure.
All printed on antique printing machines with that unmistakable bite into the paper that you can only get with letterpress printing

The work that I do is not created on a computer everything is hand drawn then hand carved out of lino then printed one impression at a time on my tabletop letterpress machine

I do not use polymer which limits me somewhat in regards to type but I love to use traditional methods in my printing that involve handset type and hand carved designs and I think this is what make my work totally Original and Unique to what other people are doing right now and it also meaning everything I make is an original work of art
I love what I do and love to share it with others that are interested

Tip shopping treasures

Instead of going straight home after doing errands in town yesterday I decided to go for a little trip out past margate to the tipshop, I hadnt been out there for a while and I didnt much feel like going home to print so off I went and I am so glad I did look what I found !

I am not much of a sewer but this find is definately a good excuse to change that it was in a kit to make a lovely cushion out of lovely pre-cut squares of designer flanelette fabrics, so thick and gorgeous I have decided that with a little help from my friend Luisa danceinmygarden that I would like to make a cute little throw rug with it , so excited!

Something that most people might not know about me is I have a bit of a soft spot for witches and anything Halloweenish so when I found these I nearly squealed with delight someone was definately looking out for me yesterday.

Another thing people might not know about me is that when I was pregnant with my son some years ago I became obsessed with x- stitch, whenever I had a spare second to myself
I would be found stitching
Over the years I have completed and given away many many finished x- stitches.
I don't do them as much now as I have a new obsession, my printing but I still every now and then crack out the aida and threads and get stitching, I find it very therapeutic.

So when I found all of these x - stitch patterns and kits it was like christmas and for them to be all of my favourite designers that in most cases that when I was really into x- stitching I just couldnt afford to buy them and would just look at them longingly lol pathetic I know !

I just couldnt believe my luck yesterday I love tip shopping !
