Welcome to Ruby Victoria Letterpress & printmaking

Here you will find photos of all my original hand carved linocut prints and letterpress printing.
A commercial printer by trade a printmaker by choice.
I specialize in original handcarved lino block prints with a bit of letterpress thrown in for good measure.
All printed on antique printing machines with that unmistakable bite into the paper that you can only get with letterpress printing

The work that I do is not created on a computer everything is hand drawn then hand carved out of lino then printed one impression at a time on my tabletop letterpress machine

I do not use polymer which limits me somewhat in regards to type but I love to use traditional methods in my printing that involve handset type and hand carved designs and I think this is what make my work totally Original and Unique to what other people are doing right now and it also meaning everything I make is an original work of art
I love what I do and love to share it with others that are interested

Ruby Victoria & Mrs Shepherd

Here are some photos of the little books that myself and Mrs Shepherd collaborated on.

Naomie and I met by chance on Facebook and struck up a friendship after realizing that we has a whopping amount of things in common which is pretty rare for me.
After not too much time we had decided it would be fun to do a little book with some of Naomies illustration turned into a linocuts then combined with letterpress type and printed by me on my little press.

Once printed the covers and pages were sent off to Naomie to bind and add some more of her lovely illustrations in them

There are only 10 of them in existence and each one is different to the next .

  3. oh how amazing this book looks. i wish that i had one! great job to both of you. :)

just wanted to say that i really loved your lino prints when i first discovered them at the salamanca markets in Hobart. You may not remember, but i was a boy who bought some red, victorian styled cards which i found delightful and gave them to my dearest friend Norah. She found your works interesting and brilliant as well.

i find your works from your little press very artistic, and often find myself daydreaming into the scenes which they depict. i congratulate you on your efforts.

oh and it would be an honour if you would stop by my blog and took a tiny glance, and if you find something that you like, please follow me.

thankyou, and well done on your new book.
    No regrets, just love.
