Welcome to Ruby Victoria Letterpress & printmaking

Here you will find photos of all my original hand carved linocut prints and letterpress printing.
A commercial printer by trade a printmaker by choice.
I specialize in original handcarved lino block prints with a bit of letterpress thrown in for good measure.
All printed on antique printing machines with that unmistakable bite into the paper that you can only get with letterpress printing

The work that I do is not created on a computer everything is hand drawn then hand carved out of lino then printed one impression at a time on my tabletop letterpress machine

I do not use polymer which limits me somewhat in regards to type but I love to use traditional methods in my printing that involve handset type and hand carved designs and I think this is what make my work totally Original and Unique to what other people are doing right now and it also meaning everything I make is an original work of art
I love what I do and love to share it with others that are interested

Printing madness and mess in my home !

Not sure if I should sell these as drink coasters or make them into tags I would love to hear your ideas on this

I can almost hear you all gasp in horror at the mess on my work table, and saying out loud" how on earth does that girl work in a place like that"? hehehe
I wonder that very same thing but I just seem to manage even though losing stuff is a pretty regular thing but I always seem to get the work out all tidy and packaged nicely.
here are some photos of what I have been up to today in preparations for Niche in Launceston on Friday and Saturday, and Morilla's shopping experience "What women want" on sunday

  1. I actually think they would work well as coasters, as opposed to gift tags ;).

  2. Love your work Nell - so clever...Mmmm can you make them into both? Or maybe a grapevine would be nice for wine coasters??? Coffee bean for mug coasters?? Just food for thought x
Best of luck for your busy market weekend!!

  4. I think it's tidier than my work space! They'd be lovely as tags, but I'm just saying that because I don't use coasters.

  5. What mess, come on you've seen my studio...I think we need to see a photo of the other side of the room!
hmmm, I can see them as coasters...would they need to be sealed?
I can also see this as a fabric print.

yes I have to agree with you Jess as I dont use drink coaster as well and dont know if many people do any more so tags might be the better option
