Welcome to Ruby Victoria Letterpress & printmaking

Here you will find photos of all my original hand carved linocut prints and letterpress printing.
A commercial printer by trade a printmaker by choice.
I specialize in original handcarved lino block prints with a bit of letterpress thrown in for good measure.
All printed on antique printing machines with that unmistakable bite into the paper that you can only get with letterpress printing

The work that I do is not created on a computer everything is hand drawn then hand carved out of lino then printed one impression at a time on my tabletop letterpress machine

I do not use polymer which limits me somewhat in regards to type but I love to use traditional methods in my printing that involve handset type and hand carved designs and I think this is what make my work totally Original and Unique to what other people are doing right now and it also meaning everything I make is an original work of art
I love what I do and love to share it with others that are interested

Well we finally got our act together and went up to the north west coast to pick up all my stuff from the house in Burnie, it wasn't really too bad a job Allan amused ruby and make coffees while I went through all the boxes and worked out what was coming and what was going to vinnies and stuff, it took only a couple of days well, really a day is guess cos I wasnt really going for it I'd work half the day then the rest of it we caught up with friends.Dad was a big help too he took a load of stuff to his place in the ute for us to pick up another time, Its funny ruby hasnt spent alot of time with my dad but its like she just instantly warms to him,he was so sweet with her he would say .come over here and give your ol poppy a squeeze.lol not like dad at all really !!!! but it makes me melt hearing him talk to her like that !!
The best part of going up there was catching up with some friends i hadnt seen for about 8 months, we stayed one night at my bestest best friend Kathy's and we had a ball allan hadn't been to the mayhem that is kathys before but he really enjoyed it, he spent most of his time in the kitchen cooking, resting and talking to the boys about computer games while kathy and i caught up and carried on like we normally do.
We also took ruby to the burnie park for a play we went and got pizza and sat in the park and had tea.She had a lovely time with another little girl there running around together and giggling with one another.
oh yeah a message for Kathy, Allan is really serious about moving to penguin he was looking at realestate and said he would like to move there between 6 and 12 months time he really loves it there. woohoo!!!!
